Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m glad you’re here.
About Me
I’m Hannah, the owner and founder of Sonder Hope Counseling LLC. I provide neurodiversity-affirming, radically inclusive, relationally-focused individual and relationship therapy to a wide range of clients across the State of Oregon. I am committed to providing high quality, ethically vigorous, and creatively collaborative counseling and therapy to each of my clients. I recognize that I am not an expert in everything (or perhaps anything!). I’m dedicated to lifelong learning in the counseling field through ongoing training, supervision, and feedback to strengthen my clinical skills and provide the most appropriate treatment and care recommendations within my scope of care.
I completed my Master’s in Professional Mental Health Counseling through Lewis and Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling here in Portland, OR. I’ve worked in various sectors of healthcare and the mental health field for the last 6+ years, after completing my B.A. in Psychology in 2019.
I am a Professional Counselor Associate (#R11316) through the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. This means that I abide by the same standards of practice and code of ethics as fully-licensed Professional Counselors in Oregon, and I am under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor until I meet the hours and time requirements to be fully-licensed. My supervisor is Raelyn Freden, M.A., CADC III, LPC, License #6754.
Other things about me? I’m a big animal lover with a sweet dog and cat at home. I enjoy spending time indoors playing video games, board games, and listening to podcasts, as well as spending time outdoors gardening, admiring bugs/birds/bees, and exploring the great PNW landscapes
Who I Work With
I provide counseling/therapy services to adults ages 18+, across the adult lifespan and various developmental and experiential milestones. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and other relationship systems.
Some clients that have found they align well with my counseling approach include: male-identifying young adults who are navigating relational, interpersonal, and emotional concerns; polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous relationship systems/couples; individuals experiencing depression and anxiety; and those processing personal or collective forms of trauma and grief. I work particularly well with neurodivergent (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, etc.) individuals and those curious about their alignment with neurodivergent experiences who want to explore more.
I am always looking to expand my caseload, diversify my experience, and grow my clinical knowledge in collaboration with clients.
My Philosophy of Therapy
Your well-being and autonomy are my first and foremost priorities. I believe all individuals deserve empathy, understanding, and the opportunity to pursue growth and healing. You are the expert in your own experiences, and I will treat you as such.
My Approach
I use a variety of techniques and styles in my therapeutic work with clients, following an “eclectic” approach that I am continually tuning to best meet the needs of each individual or relationship I work with. Some of the foundational therapeutic frameworks I use include Feminist, Psychodynamic, Narrative, and Somatic work. I always encourage my clients to share feedback about what they feel works best for them in sessions so we can collaborate on the healing process as equals.
